Heart Health Linked to Gum Health 
February is American Heart Month and Water Pik, Inc. is on a mission to alert consumers about the definitive link between periodontal (or gum) disease and cardiovascular disease.

Nearly $800,000 in projects in the works 
The Ridgecrest City Council Parks, Recreation and Quality of Life Committee, at its meeting Thursday, approved a recommendation to approve approximately $250,000 for park capital-improvement projects and $283,000 for City Hall projects for the 2007-08 fiscal year.

Pool equipment among stolen Cape items 
There were seven thefts over $200 reported Thursday in Cape Coral three of them dealing with pool equipment:

Off of San Martinez Road in the semi-rural community of Val Verde, approximately 30 children from Live Oak Elementary school gather at the clubhouse in Val Verde Park for their after-school program, awaiting fun times. However, they are also awaiting other things.
