That’s an old myth about muriatic acid 
I have been told that if you add muriatic acid diluted in a bucket of water around the perimeter of a pool, it will lower alkalinity and pH. Would you explain how the chemical reaction to muriatic acid is different depending on where you add it to your pool water?
